Health Care – Career Opportunities
Health care is the number one economic driver of the San Gabriel Valley economy and has shown steady growth over the past 10 years. Today, there are 115,000 jobs in health care – an increase of nearly 40 percent since 2003. In fact, 18% percent of our region’s jobs deliver some form of health care service. Foothill Workforce Development Board provides tools and resources to help individuals begin their careers or grow in their existing jobs, including links to major health care providers who have career opportunities available.
Veteran Services
Are you a military veteran? Our Veteran Program Staff provides employment assistance services to eligible U.S. veterans, service members and their families. They provide intensive one-on-one job search assistance as well as vocational evaluation, career exploration, and supportive rehabilitation services. Please call us at (626) 796-5627 to learn more.
Trade Adjustment Assistance
This program helps trade-affected workers who have lost their job as a result of increased imports or shifts in production out of the United States. Certified individuals may be eligible to receive one or more program benefits and services depending on what is needed to return to employment. Experience Unlimited (EU)
If you are a career professional on the executive or CEO level and have unexpectedly found yourself out of work, this may be the program for you. EU members come from professional, technical, and managerial fields and engage in job seeking activities under the general guidance of a Program Staff Chapter Liaison.
